¡Hola! Soy Nancy Rivera, la artista y el alma detrás de Creaciones Pikilu.

Mi viaje comenzó con un deseo simple: capturar el espíritu vibrante de mi tierra, la República Dominicana, en una obra de arte que pudieras sostener en tus manos. Trabajar con Porcelana Fría me permite esculpir no solo figuras, sino recuerdos.

Cada muñeca que ves aquí está hecha a mano individualmente por mí. No utilizo moldes para los detalles finos; doy forma a cada volante del vestido y a cada pétalo de las flores con paciencia y mucho amor.

¿Por qué Sin Rostro?
Mis muñecas siguen la hermosa tradición dominicana de las "Muñecas Sin Rostro". No tienen ojos ni boca porque representan a todos. Simbolizan la rica mezcla de herencias taína, africana y europea que conforman nuestra cultura. Al no tener un rostro definido, reflejan la identidad de todo un pueblo, invitándote a verte reflejado en ellas.

Hello! I am Nancy Rivera, the artist and soul behind Creaciones Pikilu.

My journey began with a simple desire: to capture the vibrant spirit of my homeland, the Dominican Republic, in a piece of art that could be held in your hands. Working with Cold Porcelain allows me to sculpt not just figures, but memories.

Every doll you see here is handcrafted individually by me. I do not use molds for the fine details; I shape every ruffle of the dress and every petal of the flowers with patience and love.

Why Faceless?
My dolls follow the beautiful Dominican tradition of "Faceless Dolls" (Muñecas Sin Rostro). They have no eyes or mouth because they represent everyone. They symbolize the rich mixture of Taino, African, and European heritages that make up our culture. By having no face, they reflect the identity of an entire people, inviting you to see yourself in them.
